The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes kicks-off tonight at 7 p.m.

(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Oct. 1, 2015) – The rain has come just in time to provide the perfect backdrop for tonight’s “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes” Kick-Off at Stillwater Public Library.

The library, OSU Allied Arts, OSU Edmon Low Library and Stillwater Police Department’s Community Outreach Program are partnering on a month long series about the world’s most famous detective.

The kick-off, which begins at 7 p.m. features scholar Dr. Bill Hagen, retired Professor of English, Oklahoma Baptist University. Hagen will preside over an English Tea while discussing author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the lasting influence of Sherlock Holmes novels.

The library will be awarding two tickets to OSU Allied Art’s theatrical performance of Sherlock Holmes to the attendee wearing the best Sherlock or period costume. Costumes are not required. Two additional tickets will be given away as door prizes. The performance takes place at the Seretean Center on Oct. 29.

The next programs in the Sherlock series include “The REAL CSI” on Monday, Oct. 5, at 6:30 p.m.; “Modern Mystery: The Mullendore Murder Case” on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m.; and “Oklahoma Mystery Author Panel” on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m.
