The Children's Summer Reading Program is for children of all ages. The program consists of the Reading Club, Live Entertainment, and Family Movies. All programs are FREE!!

Reading Club

Promoting reading is the goal of the Summer Reading Program. Children are encouraged to read throughout the summer and track the amount of time they read or are read to. Children recieve reading incentives, and those with ten hours or more are awarded achievement certificates. Registration for Summer Reading begins in May.

  • Reading incentives include:
  • various coupons from local businesses
  • posters
  • Other fun stuff

    Live Entertainment

On Tuesdays in June and July, a variety of programs are presented at 10:00 a.m., 1:30 p.m., or 3:30 p.m. Registration is not required to attend the programs; however, space is limited. (Hint: The 3:30 performance is less crowded.)

    Movies

On Thursdays in June and July at 10:00 a.m. or 1:30 p.m., Stillwater Public Library presents family movies for all ages. Popcorn and water are served.

Volunteer Program for Summer Reading Club

Anyone who has completed fifth grade can volunteer during the Summer Reading Program. Participants are asked to volunteer a two-hour shift once a week during June and July. Duties include assisting customers with registration and reading lists and helping library staff "as needed." Volunteers are awarded with a "Thank You" pizza party following the awards ceremony.

An application is available in April at the circulation desk or HERE
