To register for a Stillwater Public Library Program, please follow the directions below the program for which you want to attend.


AUTHOR MICHAEL WALLIS (Thursday, March 7, 6 p.m.)

  • Rt. 66 expert and author of "Rt. 66: The Mother Road" will speak for free 
  • This is part of our "Let's Talk About It, OK series. To sign-up for the 4 book reading and discussion series please register in person at the library. 
  • If you ONLY want to hear Michael Wallis speak please register online.

BRAIN HEALTH: UNDERSTANDING THE AGING BRAIN (Wednesday, March 13, 5:30 p.m.)

  • Dr. Sabiha Parven, Ph.D will discuss changes in cognition that occur with aging as well as risk factors that can lead to the onset of language & cognitive problems following stroke, head injury, Parkinsons's disease, or dementia.
  • You can also sign-up to receive a free confidential cognitive screening (20-25 min.) following the presentation.

TAI CHI: BALANCE FOR LIFE (Thursdays, Mar. 28-May 9, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.)

  • This class is for beginners who have NEVER done Tai Chi. Must commit to to attending a minimum of 5 classes.
  • This class will teach the 8 forms in this style of tai chi and include information on stress management. A bonus this spring is a short class on calming healthy foods included in the final class!
  • Registration is limited and required. Sign-up online or contact the Adult Help Desk.

COMPUTER TUTORING (By appointment)

HEALTHIER CHOICES, HEALTHIER YOU (Mondays, Feb. 20 - Mar. 27 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.)

  • A free 6-week program designed to equip individuals and caregivers with the tools to manage symptoms that stem from on-going health conditions such as but not limited to arthritis, diabetes, anxiety, hypertension, COPD and other physical limitations.
  • The class is presented by the Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative & Stillwater Medical Centers provides lunch.
  • Must register by Feb. 18. Call Jennifer at (405) 271-6424 or Brandi at (405) 742-5791 to register.
 
COOKBOOK CLUB (2nd Thursdays @ Prairie Arts Kitchen from Feb. 14 - May 9, 6:30-8 p.m.)
  • Cookbook club is full. Please contact the Help Desk at 405-372-3633 x8106 to be added to the waiting list.
  • Cook around a shared theme, meet, share, eat and discuss!
SPANISH FOR BEGINNERS (Tuesdays from Jan. 22 - April 23, 6:30-8 p.m.)
  • This class is full. Please contact the Help Desk at 405-372-3633 x8106 to be added to the waiting list. 
  • This free class is for complete beginners who are new to Spanish
  • Participants must be 18 or older 

 SCIENCE FICTION FILM CLUB (1st Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.)

MAKING THE MOST OF RETIREMENT (Third Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m.)

  • No registration is necessary to attend these programs for retirees.

BOOKWORMS (4th Monday at 1:30 p.m.)

Last Saturday of the month from 10am-12pm. Try out a variety of bonus activities to activate your Saturday library time! Most activities will be similar to Try It Tuesdays earlier in the month.

R.E.A.D.!

R.E.A.D!= Reading, Explorations, and Discovery! Homeschooler program for 1st-5th graders to help explore the wide world of literature. Each month a non-fiction section of the Dewey Decimal System will be presented. It is a two-part program each month, with the first session introducing the new non-fiction area and the second session providing time to share a special project. Held on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month at 2 p.m. Held Sept- April

Register for R.E.A.D!

READ, WRITE, RE'PETE' - Resumes Jan 24th @ 6pm.

Writing program hosted by the OSU Writing Center!!! Geared towards 8-12 years old.  Each session will start with a variety of writing exercises and allow for ample writing time.  Held on the 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month from 6:00-8:00 p.m. (may end early depending on writing styles). Held when OSU is in session.

TRY-IT TUESDAY

Try-It Tuesday is a variety of bonus activities to do for children K-5th grand when visiting the library on Tuesdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m. New activities each week, learn and play at your own pace. Held Sept-April.
