New series at Stillwater Public Library focuses on jobseekers

job searching medium(STILLWATER, OKLA. / April 9, 2015) –– A new series of programs designed to empower local jobseekers will be held in April and May at the Stillwater Public Library. The programs will be taught by Scott Schaefer, Career Development Specialist at Meridian Technology Center.

The first program, “Looking for a New Career,” takes place on Tuesday, April 21, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Participants will assess their work interests and skills, then explore new career opportunities her in Stillwater.

Follow-up programs include “Resume Building” on May 5 and “Interview Skills and Practice” on May 19. Both programs take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

All programs in the series are free and open to the public. Participants may choose one or all of the programs to attend, but registration is requested. To sign-up, call the library’s help desk at (405) 372-3633 x8106 or email askalibrarian@stillwater.org.

The jobseeker series is sponsored by Meridian Technology Center and the library.

Library hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  The Stillwater Public Library is located at 1107 S. Duck St. (the corner of Duck and 12th Ave.)
