The Stillwater Public Library has received a health literacy grant from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and the Institute of Museum and Library Services to provide programming to address ways to reduce stress.
Sign up for "Be Mindful," a 4-week, clinically proven, self-paced mindfulness-based cognitive therapy course that tracks your results. Learn practical approaches proven to reduce stress, anxiety, and fatigue. The course can also improve sleep quality and resilience.
The course takes place online via emails sent 2-3 times each week that include short instructional videos, activities to complete, and longer practice sessions on how to use mindfulness techniques for stress reduction.
The "Be Mindful" module was developed in response to the United Kingdom's National Health Service search for options to provide stress reduction assistance. It has been the subject of peer-reviewed studies and has been found to decrease stress. Read more in the press release.

Want to participate in "Be Mindful," but don't have regular access to the Internet or a device? The library has 10 wifi hotspots and 3 tablets available for checkout.
To borrow a device, community members must be 18+ and have a current, full-access library card. The hotspots are filtered to comply with the Child Internet Protection Act.
