Healthy Aging Series begins March 18


(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Feb. 24, 2016) ––
Beginning March 18, the library will be expanding its daytime adult programming by hosting a monthly education series focused on health aging. The series, presented by the Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative (OHAI) and targeted toward seniors and retirees, will take place at 10 a.m. on the third Friday of each month (except May and June) and will be held via the library’s videoconferencing system, which allows us to hear presentations by top professionals across the state.

Programs slated for this year’s schedule include:

  • 3/18/16 10:00 am – Noon “Medication Safety”
  • 4/15/16 10:00 – 11:00 am “Severe Weather Preparedness”
  • 7/15/16 10:00 – 11:00 am “Staying Safe in the Oklahoma Heat”
  • 8/19/16 10:00 – 11:00 am “Immunization Awareness”
  • 9/16/16 10:00 – 11:00 am “Basics of Alzheimer’s & Caregiver Resources”
  • 10/21/16 10:00 am – Noon “Health Literacy & Talking with your Doctor”
  • 11/18/16 10:00 – 11:30 am “Diabetes Education & Caregiver Awareness”
  • 12/16/16 10:00 – 11:30 am “Holiday Blues”
