Eat Your Words! Edible Book Festival

The 2014 Edible Book Festival has concluded.  Watch for announcements for the 2015 event.

WHAT IS AN EDIBLE BOOK FESTIVAL?

It’s an event that provides an opportunity for book lovers, writers, artists, and library enthusiasts to come together to celebrate books as both the transmitters of words and images and as familiar and beautiful objects, all while benefiting the Stillwater Public Library Trust and the Stillwater Literacy Council. Participants create edible books that are exhibited, photographed, judged, & consumed!

These popular festivals take place all over the world and are traditionally held close to April 1st to honor Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, the author of Physiologie du gout (The Physiology of Taste) and an early “foodie.”

For examples and creative inspiration, go to books2eat.com , do a quick internet search for “edible books,” or go to the library's Pinterest page.
