Denney and Halligan receive library award

(STILLWATER, OKLA. / Oct. 17, 2016) –– Rep. Lee Denney and Sen. James Halligan were presented with the Oklahoma Library Association’s Bill Lowry Library Champion Award at a ceremony held at the Stillwater Public Library on Oct. 14. The award was given to honor the legislatures for their career-long advocacy on behalf of the state’s libraries.

Denney and Halliagn actively supported libraries on bills that include funding and local control, while also helping to keep the state library from being consolidated into other non-education related agencies.
