Begin your business Oct. 7 class at Stillwater Public Library

(STILLWATER, OKLA., Sept. 25, 2017) —  On Saturday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m., Brad Rickelman, Assistant Director of the Center for Business Development at Meridian Technology Center, will teach “Starting Your Business” at the Stillwater Public Library. The class is intended to help budding entrepreneurs learn the basic information necessary for starting a successful business.

Students at the class will learn how to develop the right market for a business before starting it; how to create initial financial estimates; how to prevent the common pitfalls new businesses often face; and much more. Ample question and answer time will be available.

Community members interested in starting a small business are also encouraged to visit the library’s business collection which contains resources on all facets of the topic.

The library’s business collection also includes a large number of books available in the Oklahoma Virtual Library, which can be downloaded for free with a library card. The digital library is accessible 24 hours a day from any computer or mobile device with internet.

In addition, the library provides the Small Business Reference Center, a free online business information service. The service offers videos, articles and books and includes access to a small business start-up kit and dozens of NOLO consumer legal guides targeted to small business owners.

Library hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Stillwater Public Library is located at 1107 S. Duck St. (the corner of Duck and 12th Ave.).
