Annual Shredding Event
The Stillwater Public Library holds one shredding event each year for community members to securely dispose of their sensitive documents.
When is the event? The event falls as close to the the last Saturday in January as possible, but exact dates should be asked about each year.
- The 2018 event takes place Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, from 9-11 a.m.
How many documents can I bring? Participants may bring up to two copier sized boxes of material. Paperclips and staples do NOT need to be removed.
Where do I take my papers? The event is held in the library parking lot. Cars drive through the lot to the truck where material is unloaded for them.
Who does the shredding? Shred-Away Shredding is the company the library uses for shredding. Shredding is done onsite at drop-off. Shred-Away uses a multiple cutting method to ensure the safe disposal of your material.
Is there a fee? The event is free, but donations are gladly accepted to offset the cost of the event.
What should I shred? We suggest checking with your attorney or accountant for a definitive answer, but the articles below will provide assistance in identifying possible material to shred.
